Two arrested in London over Canterbury stabbing that left teenager seriously injured

Two people have been arrested after a teenage boy was stabbed multiple times in a serious assault.

The 17-year-old victim suffered extensive injuries during the incident in Canterbury last Wednesday night.

He is said to have been stabbed in a property in Edward Road between 9pm and 10pm, before leaving the building and walking along Lower Chantry Lane, collapsing near the Premier Inn.

He fell to the ground and was given first aid by members of the public.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the teenager was rushed to a London hospital in a serious condition, where he remains receiving treatment.

Officers investigating the assault have today confirmed that two people - a 42-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman - were arrested in west London yesterday in relation to the incident.

They remain in custody while enquiries continue.

Pictures taken last Wednesday night show a police cordon set up outside the front of Premier Inn, at the junction between Lower Chantry Lane and New Dover Road.

On Thursday morning, two patrol cars remained outside a property in Edward Road, while a trail of blood could still be seen along Lower Chantry Lane.

Council workers were at the scene cleaning the pavements.

Detectives investigating the incident are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.
