Two men appeared before Canterbury magistrates on Thursday charged with the smash and grab raid at an electronics store in city's Marlowe Arcade shopping centre in the early hours of the previous morning.

Connor Ryan, 19, of Clifford Gardens, Harlesden, London, and Christopher Ford, 24, of Kempson Road, Fulham, are accused of stealing Apple iPods, iPads and other computer equipment worth around £10,000.

Both men withheld their plea. Ryan made no application for bail and was remanded in custody while Ford’s application for bail was refused and he was also remanded.

Magistrates decided the case should be dealt with by the Crown Court but accused men are due back before them on March 17.
