They say one lane has been shut on the eastbound carriageway of the main road between Brenley Corner and the A2050 Roman Road, near Boughton-under-Blean, following a crash between the tractor and a van.

A National Highways spokesman said: "There are currently delays of 20 minutes and approximately two miles of congestion.

"Lane one is closed on the A2 eastbound between the M2 and A2050 near Canterbury due to an overturned tractor.

"Please allow extra time if travelling in the area."

A police spokesman says officers were called to the scene just after 7am.

The carriageway was initially closed, but one lane was reopened 45 minutes later.

It is understood there were no serious injuries reported.
