THE search for a mural to light up a Canterbury underpass is at an end.

The Underpass Project, led by the University College for the Creative Arts (UCCA) and the city council, showed the winning design by Kent artists Diccon Spain and Rachel Jenman at the Abode Hotel last Friday.

The winning artists – who are part of the Ground Control group – received a £1,000 cheque from city council leader John Gilbey.

They will now work with partners to make their mural, entitled 'Canterbury on its feet in the sun’, a reality in the St George’s Place underpass.
