Woman attacked in underpass at Mill Lane, Herne Bay, by man on a mountain bike

A woman was attacked in a lonely underpass in Herne Bay as she stooped to tie her shoelaces.

The victim, in her early 20s, was walking under the Thanet Way at Mill Lane at 9.30am on Monday when she was approached by a man riding a black and green mountain bike.

He asked if he could borrow her phone. When she refused, he became aggressive and pushed her against a wall.

He then stayed for a few more seconds before riding off towards Herne Bay.

The attack left the victim with grazing on her face.

The suspect is described as clean shaven, white and in his mid 20s.

He is of stocky build, 6ft tall with short, fair, “sun-bleached” hair.

He was wearing a white polo shirt with lime green horizontal stripes and dark blue jeans.
