Adam Riley leaves Kent after nine seasons in Canterbury

Kent have announced that Adam Riley has left the club by mutual consent.

The spinner has struggled for game time so far this season, managing just two County Championship appearances.

His place in the team was plunged further into doubt in earlier this month when Kent signed off-break bowler Ollie Rayner on loan from Middlesex.

Riley made his debut for Kent in 2011, before mustering 14 first-class wickets in his first season at the club.

He would later assert himself as first choice spinner in County Championship format with 48 wickets in 15 outings in 2014.

The 27-year-old picked up 10 wickets in the latter stages of the 2018 campaign to help Kent earn promotion back to Division 1 for the first time in eight years.

Riley leaves with 128 first-class wickets in 61 matches to his name.
