CANTERBURY pair Mel Clewlow and Hayley Brown have been named in Great Britain’s Women's Hockey squad for an Olympic warm-up trip to Australia next month.

They will play five tests and four practice matches, and be based in Perth and Brisbane.

Clewlow, 31, is the most capped player in the 22-strong party with 53 GB caps, while 20-year-old Brown has four.

England’s Head Coach, former Canterbury based Danny Kerry said: "The month long trip represents a major opportunity to practice and play in very hot conditions.

"It will be our last long haul prior to Beijing ensuring we don't overdo the travelling in the run up to the Games.

"The test matches against Australia gives us the opportunity to put areas of our game under the microscope, while the four practice matches will also give the coaching staff the chance to experiment and develop the squad."
