Kent captain Sam Billings reveals he tested positive for Covid on England duty

Kent captain Sam Billings has revealed he was one of the England players who tested positive for Covid-19 last week.

The 30-year-old has spent the past 10 days in self-isolation after three players and four staff members of England's original ODI squad tested positive.

Billings won't feature for Kent in their final two T20 Blast games - at Middlesex on Friday and against Sussex on Sunday - as he follows ECB guidelines.

"Good luck to the lads in the T20s," said Billings on Twitter. "Thankfully now recovered from Covid and 10 days done.

"Now following the ECB return to play protocol which rules me out of playing for Kent this weekend unfortunately.

"Been a frustrating time, hopefully play some cricket soon."

Zak Crawley is expected to return to the Kent side after helping England to a 3-0 ODI series win over Pakistan this week. Crawley returned scores of 58 not out, 0 and 39 in his first three international one-day appearances.
