Kent's Zak Crawley called up to England Test squad for New Zealand tour

Kent batsman Zak Crawley has been rewarded for his superb season with a call-up to England's Test squad.

The 21-year-old is one of four uncapped players set to compete in New Zealand along with Matthew Parkinson, Dom Sibley and Saqib Mahmood.

Crawley has managed 820 first-class runs for Kent this summer at an average of 34.17, hitting two centuries, five half-centuries and a high score of 111.

He will challenge Warwickshire's Sibley for opportunities at the top of the order.

Crawley made his debut for England Lions against an Australia XI back in July, producing 43 in the second innings as the match ended in a draw.

Joe Denly is also included in the Test squad, while both he and Kent skipper Sam Billings have also been named in the 15-strong IT20 squad.

Denly retains his place in the squad after his knock of 94 in England's final Test match against Australia at The Oval.
