KENT’S rain delayed and re-scheduled Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy tie is due to get underway in Canterbury at 11.45am today – weather permitting.

The game was abandoned and moved from Reading Cricket Club’s quagmire ground yesterday, but early morning showers put paid to a prompt start at St Lawrence this morning.

Umpires David Constant and Neil Bainton inspected at 11am and decided that play could start just before noon, without the loss of any overs.

Kent will rest their overseas pace bowler Mohammad Sami, while Berkshire include three players with county experience, Paul Prichard, Julian Wood, and Carl Crowe.
