Canterbury's five game winning streak came to end after they suffered a 25-20 defeat against Dings Crusaders in National 3 South on Saturday.

Canterbury started strongly and opened the scoring when Mike Coman went over.

Dings hit back with a score from hooker Dave Wheeler and a defensive blunder gave Tom Lukatniec the gap for his side's second try.

Mike Melford went over for Canterbury's second try but in the final minute of the half a missed tackle allowed centre Sam Caven to touchdown.

In the second half, tries from Andy Pratt and Carlton Littlechild swung the balance back in Canterbury's favour.

But they failed to push on and allowed Dings to control the last 20 minutes.

Two penalty goals from Lukatniec eased Dings to victory.
