Canterbury Hockey Club's Natalie Seymour has been included in the Great Britain squad which flies out to Valencia on Monday for a week-long training camp which also includes three friendly matches against Spain.

Uncapped by GB, Seymour is one of 13 English players in the 18-strong party as head coach Danny Kerry looks to provide opportunities for younger, less experienced players to gain vital experience at senior level.

Kerry said: “We will be using this trip as an early opportunity within an Olympic cycle to look at a number of players with 2012 in mind.

"In addition to this, a number of potential squad members will be in Sydney with the GB Youth team competing at the Australia Youth Olympic Festival. In taking these opportunities to go away, strong competition for the GB squad and team places can be grown further.”

The GB squad will play three games against Spain on Tuesday, January 13, Wednesday, January 14 and Friday, January 16.

It has not yet been decided if caps will be awarded for the games.

Former Canterbury forward Hayley Brown, presently playing with FC Junior Barcelona is also in the squad.
