Kent's world champion tennis star Ben Gusic-Wan shows off his skills at Wye Tennis Club

The world’s leading under-12 tennis player has been in action at Wye Tennis Club.

LTA’s boy player-of-the-year Ben Gusic-Wan, the under-12 Junior Orange Bowl International champion from Kent, played an exhibition match at Wye Tennis Club against one of his coaching team, Ben Roger.

Gusic-Wan edged last Friday’s first set 7-6 before taking the second set 6-2.

Thirty members socially distanced themselves inside the club, whilst a further 70 or so were outside of the perimeter fence, also socially distanced.

The Mayor of Ashford, John Link had been invited down by club chairman Graham Sutherland in order to showcase the club’s development as a true community establishment that has received grants from Ashford Borough Council throughout its development. They were keen for the mayor to see for himself the benefits that those grants had made.
