Leigh Technology Academy pupil James Bedford leaves hospital after being hit by a car in The Brent, Dartford

A school boy has left hospital after suffering head injuries when he was hit by a car in Dartford.

Leigh Technology Academy pupil James Bedford was involved in a collision in The Brent on Wednesday just before 2.20pm.

He was taken to Kings College Hospital in London with injuries to his head, hand, leg and stomach but was discharged yesterday.

Emergency crews were on the scene and the air ambulance landed in the grounds of Brent Primary School.

The road was been shut off between St Vincent Road and Lingfield Avenue until just before 4pm.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 2.20pm on to a report of a collision between a boy and a car in The Brent, Dartford.

"The road was closed from St Vincent's to Lingfield Avenue while emergency services dealt with the incident.

"The boy has been taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening and the road has been reopened."
