Appeal after woman is found seriously hurt

An ELDERLY woman has been left dazed and confused with serious injuries after what police believe may have been a vicious attack.

Lilly Collins, who is in her eighties, was found by a passer-by on a bench near Dartford railway station at the weekend.

An ambulance was called to tend to her, initially believing her injuries had been caused by a fall. It was later established her wounds were more likely to have been caused by a serious attack.

Ms Collins does not recall what happened to her. Det Sgt Ian McCarthy said: “She is very confused. She has told us her name is Lilly Collins and she is possibly from the Finsbury Park area of London but we have been unable to confirm these details.

“We would appeal to anyone who may have seen a distressed woman, with particularly bad bruising to her face, in or around Dartford railway station on Saturday evening to call us”

He added: “We would like to hear from anyone who may know anyone by the name of Lilly Collins and who may have recently gone missing.” The woman is described as white and was wearing a blue fleece jacket, black trousers, purple jumper and blue trainers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DS McCarthy on 01474 565167.
