A man has been arrested after a wooden baton was found inside a car.

Police stopped a car on the A20 near West Kingsdown at 8.40am yesterday.

The driver was reportedly using a mobile phone while driving and a wooden cosh was seized from the vehicle.

A man in his 30s from Swanley was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

He was later released on bail.
