It was the 15th time Swanley & North Downs Lions had held Bike Around Brands and providing all pledges are honoured, and after track hire costs and other expenses are met, some £7,000 will have been raised.

It is the third highest amount ever generated by the ride and it will be used to benefit those cared for by the ellenor hospice team - which serves patients across Gravesham, Dartford, Swanley and Bexley - along with others in need for a variety of reasons.

Lions President David Mayes, club members and helpers thanked all those who took part, together with Brands Hatch boss Jonathan Palmer and the staff at the circuit, for their continuing support.

Since it was first run, the event has raised more than £75,600 to help those in need.
