Bluewater Nando's branches reopen after positive Covid-19 tests prompted closures due to staff shortages

Both Nando's at Bluewater were forced to close due to staff testing positive for Covid-19.

Staff shortages meant the popular chicken restaurant had to shut both restaurants at the Greenhithe shopping centre for a few days last week.

It comes after a member of the eatery's team at both its Plaza and Winter Garden branches tested positive for the virus.

This meant the chain had to instruct certain colleagues to self-isolate.

As a result it did not have enough team members to keep both branches running and was forced to close each.

However, a spokesman for Nando's has said both branches adhered to the relevant guidelines and have now reopened.

He said: “A member of our team in each of these restaurants tested positive for coronavirus, and because of self-isolation regulations, we did not have enough team members to keep them running for a few days.

"We have closely adhered to all relevant regulations and are very pleased that the restaurants are now both open.”
