An overturned caravan on the A2 has been causing long delays for commuters this evening.

The vehicle ended up on its side on the coastbound carriageway at Dartford Heath just after 5pm.

It blocked all three lanes near the slip road and led to heavy congestion for several miles.

Kent Highways said motorists should expect delays while the van and the caravan it was towing are cleared.

Two ambulances from South East Coast Ambulance Service were spotted at the scene, but it is unclear if there are any injuries.
