Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to talk to after a pub was deliberately set on fire.

Police and firefighters attended the scene and the blaze was extinguished.

The flames damaged the building but nobody was injured, despite there being a number of people inside the pub at the time.

Pub manager Tom Boylan previously told KentOnline how punters carried on drinking completely unaware the building was burning.

He said: "It was not nice to see the pub like that.

"It could have been a lot worse if it had gone into the cellar hatch below where the boiler is.

"While I am here I am just doing my job. It is a nice village and all people want to do is enjoy the pub."

Following the incident officers declared the fire as suspicious and spoke to a number of witnesses.

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, or who has information which could assist officers, should call Kent Police on 01474 366149 quoting crime reference 46/264004/21.
