Cheerleading knows no bounds for a group of youngsters who continue to add to their impressive collection of trophies and titles.
Intensity Cheer Extreme, who train at Swanscombe Leisure Centre, notched up several awards at Jamfest Europe and the Legacy Cheer and Dance Nationals.
Four teams competed at Jamfest, held at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, taking three first places, including Grand Champions for senior level two team, Passion, and a third place.
The following weekend saw all Intensity Cheer Extreme cheerleading teams and stunt groups perform at the Copper Box Arena in the Olympic Park.
All nine cheerleading teams were placed in the top two, with seven becoming national champions. The stunt groups were also all placed top three.
Coach Sammi Hughes said: “It was great to be able to compete on the national stage so close to home and in an amazing venue. We are so proud of all our athletes. They each performed their best and we achieved fantastic results.”
Intensity Cheer Extreme, who also train at Medway Park in Gillingham, are recruiting new members, of all abilities and aged five to adult.
“Cheerleading is a team sport combining gymnastics and dance into a two-and-a-half-minute routine,” added Sammi. “We jump, dance, stunt and tumble.”
