Crashes on A2 and M25 cause delays

Motorists were faced with long delays on their route to work after two accidents caused major congestion.

Three cars were involved in an accident which has blocked two lanes of the A2 near Cobham Services on the London-bound carriageway.

Kent Police was called at around 7am and highways officers went to the scene.

The route fully reopened and traffic returned to normal shortly after 8.30am.

Meanwhile, traffic was queuing on the M25 heading clockwise at Junction 3 the Swanley Interchange after a crash between a car and a lorry.

One lane was blocked with congestion stretching back to Junction 2 the Darenth Interchange.

The route has cleared and traffic returned to normal at about 8.45am.
