Kent Fire and Rescue and British Red Cross called to house fire in Teesdale Road, Dartford

Kent Fire and Rescue took forty minutes to tackle a blaze in a Dartford home today caused by an electrical fault in a freezer.

The fire started in the first-floor spare bedroom of a two-storey house in Teesdale Road at 11.56am today.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire which was put out shortly after 12.30pm.

The fire caused smoke damage which was contained to the bedroom where the fire started.

Residents evacuated the property immediately and there were no injuries.

The British Red Cross Emergency Support team was also called to the scene.
