Congestion is building from the Dartford Crossing at Junctions 1A and 1B all the way back to Swanley.

The government-owned company has urged football fans travelling for Boxing Day matches to check for updates and ensure they have enough fuel to reach their destination.

This includes Gillingham fans who will be making their way to Ipswich for today's game via the Crossing.

Shoppers will also be using the bridge to get to and from Lakeside and Bluewater shopping centres as they look for bargains.
