Firefighters tackle Derelict building fire in Lowfield Street, Dartford

Fire crews were called to the scene of a fire in a derelict building.

Three fire engines attended the blaze in Lowfield Street, Dartford and used hose reel jets to fight back the flames.

The incident was reported to crews shortly before 4pm.

Due to smoke coming from the incident, firefighters advised members of the public nearby to keep windows and doors shut as a precaution.

As of 7.15pm the fire is now out.

There were no reported injuries and the cause isn't known at this stage.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "The earlier advice to close windows and doors is no longer required.

"Thank you to everyone living around the area for your support during this time."
