It is taking place tonight from 6pm to 7.30pm and people will walk through the town to Central Park.

The festival features dozen of schools and pupils who will take part in the walk.

People will meet at One Bell Corner in the High Street at 6pm where a range of entertainment will be provided from performers, including the Kings of Dhol and the Fat Cat Brass Band.

A colourful lantern parade will be led by Dartford mayor Cllr Roger Perfitt at 6.30pm through Hythe Street and Suffolk Road, into the Orchards shopping centre then onto the High Street again before turning at Holy Trinity Church and arriving at Central Park for 7pm.

People can then enjoy some more entertainment and speeches at the park followed by a fireworks display finale.
