Fire crews called to kitchen fire at property in Cotton Lane, Greenhithe

A fire in a kitchen is believed to have been started by faulty electrical wiring.

The fire service was called to the blaze in Cotton Lane, Greenhithe, shortly after 11am today.

Two fire engines attended the scene, and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet before leaving the scene at about 12.30pm.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.

A fire service spokesman said: “The cause is believed to be linked to electrical wiring.”
