Fire crews called out to animal pen blaze in Orchard Way, Wilmington

Firefighters were called to the farmlands after an animal pen was found alight.

Crews attended a property in Orchard Way, Wilmington, near Bybow Farm, shortly after 4am following reports of a fire at a small outdoor enclosure.

Two fire engines arrive at the scene and crews worked to tackle the blaze with a hose reel jet.

The flames were extinguished by 4.30am.

No casualties were reported and no animals were harmed.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental due to an electrical fault.
