The fourth demolition of Littlebrook Power Station took place at midnight last night.
A controlled explosion attempted to bring down part of the D station of the Thames' last remaining power station, with the de-aeration bay being lined with explosives.
The 10-second event, in Littlebrook, Dartford, is why residents would have heard a bang just after 12pm.
A road block was put in place on the QEII bridge, to make sure drivers weren't distracted during the explosion.
The previous demolition, which saw the turbine hall brought down, took place in April.
Demolitions of parts of the main structures are set to continue throughout 2019, with the completion expected in 2020.
