Greyhound at Battersea Brands Hatch, in Ash, looking for her forever home

A sweet-natured Greyhound is searching for a forever home after spending more than 120 days with an animal charity.

One-year-old Lexi arrived at the Battersea Brands Hatch rescue centre in Ash as a nervous stray, but quickly started to come out of her shell when she was introduced to other dogs.

She is shy around new people, and is looking for new owners who already have a dog.

Her new home would need to have access to plenty of calm walking routes away from busy areas and she would need her own enclosed garden.

She could live with older teenagers who can respect her space and could potentially share her new home with more than one other dog pending successful meets.

New owners can discuss Lexi’s ongoing training requirements with the Battersea Brands Hatch team.

Chloe Scoones, canine behaviour and training advisor lead at the centre said: “Lexi was very shy around new people when she first came to us, but luckily for this gorgeous Greyhound, other dogs at the centre stepped forward to offer her a helping paw.

“With a little help from her canine friends, Lexi has started to let out her playful side and has enjoyed zooming around with her playmates who have helped her get used to the world around her.

“As Lexi’s canine companions have helped build her confidence, she would benefit from having a sociable canine bestie, ideally another sighthound, in her new home that could help her settle in and act as a confident older sibling to her.

“She is a sensitive soul at heart and as she can take time to get used to new people, she would need patient owners who can slowly but surely gain her trust and dedicate their time to help her settle into new surroundings.

“Lexi is super smart and is very partial to a chew or two! It's been so rewarding to see her shine during her time with us and we can’t wait to see her thrive with caring new owners.”
