In the grounds of the shopping centre, the world-renowned story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar is brought to life in free family attraction. Set within the Nature Trail, the installation includes a mini adventure where families can listen to audio readings by local schoolchildren from the Eric Carle classic via QR codes. A one-metre sculpture of an apple from the famous picture book is the centrepiece to the trail.

For a lunch pit-stop, there are more than 50 places to eat and drink. The newest addition is Leon, which opened on Monday, January 31. It's menu is inspired by the flavours, variety and natural healthiness of the Mediterranean diet.

Glenn Edwards, managing director of Leon, said: "We are thrilled to continue our Leon expansion with this exciting return to Bluewater.

After closing our previous Bluewater location, we had many locals write in to tell us how much they missed us, so it’s with pride that we return. We are delighted to be able to bring hungry shoppers delicious, naturally fast food.”
