Coronavirus Kent: Darent Valley Hospital posts wish list for patients

Darent Valley Hospital has sent out an appeal for donations for patients in need of toiletries and other items.

The hospital in Dartford posted an "Amazon wish list" on its Facebook page today, stating: "Due to their emergency admissions we currently have quite a few patients staying in wards, having arrived without a hairbrush, or any toiletries. Just brushing somebody's hair or cleaning their teeth makes them feel just that little bit better.

"These items would usually be brought to loved ones by friends or family members but with visitor restrictions in place it is difficult for this to happen."

"We are humbly asking if anyone would be kind enough to donate just one of the following items (new/unused)."

Requested items include toothpaste and brushes; combs, brushes or Tangle Teezers, razors (disposable), small shaving foam, small deodorant, face cloths and small face towel, shampoo, conditioner, hand cream, lip balm, packs of tissues, hand wipes, note pads, ear plugs for mobile phones, medium sized gift bags.

Anyone who would like to donate items is asked to place them in a plastic bag that is labelled with the date and their name and address, so the hospital can thank senders.

Bags can be dropped off with security guards in the hospital reception or posted to:

Wellbeing Team, Trust HQ, Level 4, Darent Valley Hospital, Darenth Wood Road, Dartford, DA2 8DA.
