Customers evacuated from Rowhill Grange Hotel and Utopia Spa, Hextable, after thatched roof catches fire

People were rushed out of a luxury hotel last night after its thatched roof burst into flames.

Rowhill Grange Hotel and Utopia Spa, off Top Dartford Road, in Hextable, was evacuated before firefighters reached the scene at 9.35pm.

More than 30 firefighters from both Thameside and Dartford crews battled the blaze before putting it out by 1am this morning.

No one was hurt by the fire and the circumstances around the incident are still not known by Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

Officers did confirm they are investigating the matter.
