Large emergency response seen in Princes Road, Dartford, following reports of man in Brooklands Lake

A large emergency service response was seen blocking part of a busy road following reports of a man in a body of water.

Police officers, fire crews, and paramedics were seen attending the incident along Princes Road in Dartford, near Brooklands Lake.

Witnesses say they also saw specialists “putting on wet gear” and entering the water next to the main road at around 2.30pm.

One woman, who didn’t wish to be named, told KentOnline: “I didn't see much only the ambulance, fire engine, and police.

“They were all parked up at the side of that road and I heard they were putting on wet gear to go into the water.”

A police spokesman confirmed the force was called to Brooklands Lake at around 1.40pm.

They said: “Kent Police was called due to concern for a man reported to have been in the water.

“Officers attended and carried out a thorough search of the lakes and surrounding area with assistance from Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

“Nobody fitting the description of the man was located and no further reports were received.”

Kent Fire and Rescue Service also sent two fire engines and awater safety unit.
