It has been kept supplied during this time by the ASDA distribution centre in Crayford, near Dartford, which has supplied almost £2,000 worth of food to date.

Now workers at the depot have made their own cash collection and donated £195 towards the food bank's funds.

Swanscombe and Greenhithe Town Mayor Peter Harman has been working alongside colleagues Cllr Lesley Howes and Cllr Lorna Cross to support staff in their efforts.

Cllr Harman said: “This has been a joint effort between Swanscombe Food Cellar, ASDA Crayford, Northfleet Lions and The Residents’ Association; all working together to look after those who need help during the pandemic.

"Thank you to everyone involved, and especially to the staff at ASDA for their very kind donation to help others.”
