A man has been found dead in a car near two grammar schools.
Police were called yesterday just before 6.40pm following concerns for the welfare of a person in a car in Oakfield Lane, Wilmington.
Officers and paramedics attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene, which is close to both Wilmington Grammar School for Girls and Boys.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
Firefighters were called at 8.57pm and attended to ensure the scene was safe.
Residents reported seeing forensics teams as well as two cars in a car park which were taped and sealed off.
A police spokesman said: “Officers and partner agencies left the scene at around 10.50am on November 29 and there is no concern for the wider public.”
