Man in hospital after Dartford tunnel crash causes five mile queues

Drivers are facing delays following a crash in the Dartford tunnel this morning.

Two lanes were closed at the West Tunnel of the crossing, but have since reopned.

Traffic was queueing for five miles due to the accident, which involved a motorcycle, and Dartford town centre was also affected.

A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital following the collision.

Emergency services were at the scene with traffic officers following the incident at around 8am.

Police spokesman James Walker said: "We were called at 7.55am to a reported single vehicle collision, involving a motorbike, in the West Dartford Tunnel.

"Officers attended alongside the ambulance service and a man was taken to a local hospital.
