Kent Volunteer of the Year Jonjo Heuerman raising yet more cash with a charity cycle ride from Dortmund to Wembley

A prolific teenage fundraiser is setting off on his latest money-making effort today.

In 2009, Jonjo Heuerman lost his nan to bowel cancer, the same disease which claimed his football hero Bobby Moore.

After that he decided he wanted to do something proactive to help with the fight against cancer, and over the years he has raised more than £230,000.

The 14-year-old, from Wilmington, was named Volunteer of the Year at the Kent Charity Awards earlier this month and is now setting off on a 450-mile challenge from Dortmund in Germany.

He will cycle his way through the country and the Netherlands over the next six days. He will then jump on a ferry to Harwich and cycle through Colchester, Chelmsford and Barking – finishing in Fulham where, on April 10, he will set off to walk the last six miles to Wembley Stadium.
