Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger teams up with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl for post-lockdown anthem 'Eazy Sleazy'

Watching too much TV and cleaning the kitchen sink are just a couple of things a rock and roll icon gets up to during a pandemic.

Dartford-born Rolling Stone Mick Jagger has teamed up with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl to record new post-lockdown anthem "Eazy Sleazy".

In an existing surprise, the Rolling Stones singer announced the uplifting track to fans on his Youtube account yesterday.

The song chronicles the ageing rocker's struggles with life in lockdown as he muses on the perils of navigating Zoom calls and "TikTok's stupid dance".

"Way too much TV is lobotomising me. Think I've put on weight. I'll have another drink then I'll clean the kitchen sink," sings the 77-year-old of the lowlights of the last year on the track.

The Dartford rocker also takes aim at anti-vaxxers with his punk-tinged lyrics as he quips "Shooting a vaccine. Bill Gates is in my bloodstream. It's mind control."

The emotionally-charged track is a celebration of what is hoped will prove the end of long lockdowns and fractured social connections.

With optimism and change in sight, Mick looks forward to the world beyond "these prison walls" and the “garden of earthly delights” that lie beyond.

Mick said: "I wanted to share this song that I wrote about eventually coming out of lockdown, with some much-needed optimism.

"Thanks to Dave Grohl for jumping on drums, bass and guitar. It was a lot of fun working with you on this - hope you all enjoy Eazy Sleazy!"

The duo recorded the song and video in different studio locations.

Of the experience, the former Nirvana and Queens of the Stone Age drummer, Dave Grohl said: “It’s hard to put into words what recording this song with Sir Mick means to me.

"It’s beyond a dream come true. Just when I thought life couldn’t get any crazier...and it’s the song of the summer, without a doubt!”

Mick was a pupil at Wentworth Primary School in Dartford where he first met Keith Richards.

The pair lost touch after he passed his 11-plus and won a place at Dartford Grammar School but famously reunited at the town's train station and went on to join the Rolling Stones.

Both have approved the use of their songs for an as-yet unnamed TV series from the creators of The Crown, set to chronicle their younger years.

A new mural showcasing the band's greatest hits is planned for One Bell Corner, as part of the Dartford High Street improvement works, in another nod to the town's rock 'n' roll legacy.
