Dartford man charged after police find pistol in gym locker

A man has been charged after police found a gun inside a gym locker.

Freddie Bell, 22, of Patterdale Road, Dartford, was arrested and charged with possessing a firearm following an investigation.

The pistol was found with ammunition by officers on Wednesday, October 30 at the gym, in Darenth Road, Dartford.

Police spokesman Steve Knight said: "Freddie Bell was arrested on Monday November 1 following an investigation by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, and has since been charged with possessing a firearm and 10 rounds of ammunition.

"Mr Bell has been remanded in custody and was due to appear before Medway magistrates on Tuesday, November 19."
