Man arrested following police helicopter hunt in Longfield, Dartford after suspected burglary

A suspected burglar has been arrested following a police helicopter hunt yesterday.

Officers were called to Main Road in Longfield at 10.20am after reports of two men acting suspiciously.

A 24-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested just before 3pm yesterday on suspicion of burglary close to Main Road. He remains in police custody.

Inquiries are ongoing to locate the other suspect.

Eyewitnesses took to Twitter to share what they saw. Ryan tweeted: "Yeah the cars have been around most of the morning and they were searching the field opposite my house.

"... police were searching the field opposite and then one ran off and got in the car and sped off and then another car went.

"[The police cars] past like five minutes ago with sirens and then helicopter flew over."
