Police helicopter searches for driver 'with weapon' after crash in Southfleet

A police helicopter has been deployed in a search for a driver who may have a weapon.

Officers were called to a two-vehicle crash in Highcross Road, Southfleet this afternoon, where the driver of one of the vehicles fled on foot. They are also reported to be in possession of a weapon.

A thorough search of the area was carried out with help from the National Police Air Service helicopter.

No serious injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
