Three charged after attempted burglary at cannabis house in Swanley

Two Londoners have been charged with attempting to burgle a Kent house which was being used to grow cannabis.

Vincent Harvey, 57, and Peter Smith, 54, were arrested and charged yesterday after police were called to property in London Road, Swanley, at 1.30am to reports of suspicious activity.

When officers arrived they searched the house and discovered a number of rooms which were growing cannabis.

In total, almost 500 plants were seized along with other items including a knuckle duster and stun gun.

Three men were located at the house, with the help of a police dog, and arrested.

Harvey was charged with aggravated burglary, as well as separate charges of possessing a stun gun, an offensive weapon and a knife in a public place - Smith was charged with aggravated burglary.

A third man, Olsen Likaj, 31, of London Road, Swanley, was charged with producing cannabis.

All three are set to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court today.
