Second dispersal order against boy racers for Crossways Boulevard area of Greenhithe, Dartford

Boy racers are again being targeted with a dispersal order this weekend.

The 48-hour order began at 8pm yesterday and covers the A206 and the B255 in Greenhithe.

Roads within the enforcement area include Crossways Boulevard, Quadrant Court, Galleon Boulevard, Anchor Boulevard, Newton’s Court, Schooner Court, Capstan Court, Masthead Close, Clipper Boulevard and Bridge Close.

Greenhithe residents say they are regularly kept awake by loud street racing at Crossways Boulevard.

Kent Police says that anyone found driving antisocially or in a way likely to cause alarm or distress, can be directed by a police officer or PCSO to leave the area and not return without risking arrest.

Insp Trevor Jenner of the Dartford Community Safety Unit, said: "This is the second period of enforcement after we received reports from residents about groups of motorists driving in an antisocial manner, causing excessive noise and in some incidents, a danger to other road users.

"Several drivers were required to leave the area last weekend and we will not hesitate to target the small minority who behave irresponsibly. Those who persistently cause a nuisance risk having their vehicles seized."

Exactly the same area had a dispersal order for 48 hours from 6pm on Friday, March 4.

Anybody needing to report instances of antisocial behaviour should call 101 or report it online via the Kent Police website kent.police.uk
