Bluewater competition offers six months rent free for winner

Up-and-coming firms are being given the opportunity to take things to the next level with six months free at Bluewater.

The shopping and leisure centre is running a competition to find the best small, independent retail businesses which will see one winner receive a free shop unit for six months from October 1 until March 31.

The competition is a first for Bluewater and organisers say it is an opportunity for businesses to grow their audience and brand.

The Made in Kent competition has been designed to support local up-and-coming businesses, with entries now open and running until Monday, August 10.

The competition will be judged on the products to be sold, background information on the brand, business plans and goals for the next five years, how the owner will transform the space into an engaging store and offer a great experience for customers.

As well as the exposure to thousands of customers, the winner will also benefit from media and marketing support from Bluewater and have the opportunity to advertise on in-centre digital screens.

Bluewater's senior centre director Robert Goodman said: “Made in Kent is a fantastic opportunity for us to give back to the local community who have supported us so much over the years.
