A newly-revamped pub and sports bar has been named among the winners of some of the country's best boozers.
Dartford Sports Bar, in Spital Street, Dartford, won at the Great British Pub Awards during an awards ceremony hosted by comedian Russell Kane.
The bar had a £400k refurbishment in March of this year, after the building was taken over by licensees Chris Michaelas and April Reeves at the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The pub has two zones, with a quieter restaurant and dining area, and a booth area, where each booth has its own TV screen for customers to select their own channel, and watch what they want on Sky Sports or BT Sport.
Outside, the pub has a large covered courtyard with individual heated booths with their own TV. Inside, there is also a dartboard, a pool table, and a dancefloor with a DJ.
The pub is owned by Admiral Taverns, the UK's leading community pub group, owning around 1,600 pubs across the UK.
The Dartford Sports Bar was named the Admiral Taverns Pub of the Year award at the ceremony on October 4 held at the Escape to Freight Island restaurant in Manchester.
The sports bar opened up on the site of the former Industry nightclub in Dartford town centre and its late night licence allows it to stay open to 3am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
The Great British Pub Awards is the pub sector's leading awards show and has been running for more than two decades. There were 18 different categories this year.
Winners included the Great British Pub of the Year, which went to The Gun Inn in Findon, West Sussex, the Best Pub to Watch Sport, which went to The Famous Three Kings in Fulham, London, and the Community Hero, which was awarded to The Lion in Treorchy, Wales.
