Teens 'robbed' at knifepoint by gang in Bluewater Shopping Centre, Dartford

A dad has slammed a shopping centre after his teenage son was allegedly robbed at knifepoint in a "packed area".

It has been reported that his 15-year-old son and a friend were at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Dartford, when they were approached by a gang-of-eight at around 7pm.

Darren Smith says he is "disgusted" with the way the shopping centre has dealt with the incident.

In a video which has attracted 80,000 views on social media, he said: "My 15-year-old was with his friend at Bluewater Shopping Centre this evening.

"At approximately 7pm some youths robbed them at knifepoint in a particularly packed area.

"Apparently they work in gangs of eight and they casually sat down beside them asked them to feel the knife in their pockets and then took their phones.

"They were both petrified. It was fortunate that someone witnessed it with a young child and called the police."

Two mobile phones and money were reportedly taken from the two teens.

He added: "Bluewater should be totally ashamed for its complete lack of compassion and care of duty after the knife incident.

"We saw nobody for over two hours. They were simply left at the spot he was robbed until we arrived."

It's the third such incident reported at the shopping centre this month after a masked gang robbed a man's watch money and passport in the car park.

Then just under a week later a masked gang threatened to "stab a teenager" for his mobile phone.

Bluewater has been contacted and police have since arrested two people.
