Three-mile queues on the A2 at the Bean Interchange near Bluewater following two-car accident

Drivers faced big delays on a major route in the county today following an accident involving two cars.

Traffic at one point was queuing for three miles after two lanes of the A2 at the Bean Interchange with B255 Bean Lane near Greenhithe were closed following the incident.

The road is close to the turn-off for the Bluewater shopping complex.

The carriageway has now reopened, but motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys while the congestion clears.

It is not known if anyone has been injured as a result of the accident.

Kent Police has been approached for comment.
