Delays built up on the M25 in both directions after a crash involving three vehicles.

The accident happened on the M20 coast-bound at Junction 3 for the M25 at the Swanley Interchange this afternoon.

The motorway was blocked for more than an hour but the vehicles involved are now on the hard shoulder and the road has reopened.

However, delays remain around the Swanley Interchange with queues on the M25.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Kent Police received a report of a collision involving three vehicles at 4.41pm.

"Officers and other emergency services are currently attending the scene on the coast-bound M20 near the junction for the M25.

"All vehicles have been moved to the hard shoulder and the road is open."
