They will be joined by Cher, Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift impersonators, as well as applicants to the town’s very own version of Britain’s Got Talent for an extravaganza celebrating the borough’s LGBTQIA+ community on Saturday July 22.

The Pride stage will include returning performances from drag queen girl group Queenz and local artist, River Medway, best known for competing on the third series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

There will also be entertainment from host X Factor’s Anton Stephans and Strictly Come Dancing star Graziano Di Prima and his associate choreographer Giada Lini who will teach the crowd dances from upcoming musical La Bamba.

West End performers Carl Mann, star of Wicked, Courtney Stapleton, star of Six, and Scott Sutcliffe from Mamma Mia, will perform a West End Megamix of favourite songs from the shows.

The day will also include stallholders, street performers, prizes, giveaways, face painting and street food.

Leader of Dartford council Jeremy Kite, said: “Our Dartford Pride event had a fantastic first year last summer and we couldn’t be happier to be working with The Orchard Theatre again this year.

“We have a wonderful LGBTQIA+ community in Dartford, I want this to be an amazing event for them and for the whole community.”

Alongside the main event, The Orchard Theatre will also be hosting a series of Pride themed workshops in the days after the concert including a drag workshop, West End workshops, story time with Mama G and a Heel dance workshop.

The event, which is free and suitable for all ages, is supported by a donation from Bluewater shopping centre this year.

James Waugh, centre director at Bluewater, said: “We celebrate our wonderfully diverse community all day, every day, and Pride Month is an opportunity to put a spotlight on progress made so far, and the work still to be done.

“We look forward to seeing the positive impact of the work led by Dartford Pride throughout the year.”
